In a sudden development, Saudi Arabia, UAE
and Bahrain have recalled their Ambassadors from Qatar over alleged breach of security deal.
They
issued a
joint statement a
short while ago stating the three states have decided to start taking measures
they see fit to protect their security and stability, affirming that they are
safeguarding the interests of the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) states, including neighboring Qatar. They claim
Qatar has not abided by a security agreement signed by GCC countries in Riyad,
Saudi Arabia on 23 November 2013. The statement said that Qatar has failed to
take the proper measure to put the agreement into effect. It further added that
Qatar has failed to stick to the principles of non-intervention in other
states' internal affairs and refraining from supporting all who threaten the
security of the council states.
